Wimbledon, there's simply nothing quite like it. From the festive atmoshpere, the rich history, to the grass courts themselves. Wimbledon is certainly acknowledged as the premier tennis tournament in the world, hosted by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Every true tennis fan must make a journey to this bastion of tennis history at least once in their lifetime and Championship Tennis Tours makes it as easy as high tea to do just that

In 2007, Roger Federer retained his crown as king of Wimbledon, beating young Spanish prince Rafael Nadal to secure his fifth consecutive title, matching the legendary reign of the watching Bjorn Borg, the king of this court in a previous era. On the Ladies side Venus Williams has joined an elite group by winning the Championship for a fourth time.

The 2008 tournament is shaping up to be one of the most interesting in recent memory. On the Women's side the Williams sisters and Maria Sharapova were ushered out of the French Open well before most expected. Each is out to prove it was merely an aberration by hunkering down and tackling the grass courts of Wimbledon. But don't discount the stellar Serbs, French Open champion Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, who are now the world's top two players.
On the Men's side Roger Federer's crestfallen season was only amplified by an embarrassing loss in the French Open final. The Swiss, however, is the defending five-time Wimbledon champion, and if ever there is a time he'll amp his game up, it's at the All England Club. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, though, are exuding confidence and appear closer than ever to dethroning the grass-court king.
